Elementary (Pre-K - 5th Grade)

WELCOME TO TRADEWINDS KIDS ELEMENTARY!

What is TC Kids Elementary?

In a word?  It's awesome!  TC Kids is age-appropriate teaching for children from Pre-Kindergarten (K5)–5th Grade.  TC Kids Elementary classes meet twice each Sunday: for Kids' Church at 9am and then again during our 10:30am Sunday service, immediately following Family Worship.

Each weekend your children can be a part of an engaging environment filled with activities and amazing Bible stories that teach Godly values.  Kids’ Church meets from 9-10am in the Youth Room, directly next door to the Adult Sunday School class.  Our curriculum is a mixture of several different good curriculums, merged together to make one super, great, mega-curriculum! We cover the entire Bible, alongside our other TC Elementary Kids classes, to give all of our TC Kids a more in-depth look at each Bible story.  It’s lots of fun, and your kids will want to come back!

At 10:30am, our Elementary kids enjoy family worship in the sanctuary during the first part of the worship service and then are dismissed to their individual classrooms for age-appropriate teaching.  While you are soaking up what God wants to say to your heart this week, your children are learning about the Bible and having a blast in a class custom-built for them.

FAQ’s

Where is TC Kids?

The TC Kids classrooms are located across the breezeway from the sanctuary, in the Education Building.

Lower Elementary (Kindergarten – 2nd Grade) meets in the second classroom on the left.

Upper Elementary (3rd – 5th Grade) meets in the second classroom on the right.

Will my child have the same teacher each week?

Our amazing volunteers are currently in a monthly rotation.  Your child will have the opportunity to get to know 4 teachers over 4 weeks – and then get to know them better the following month!  Tradewinds Church believes strongly in volunteer appreciation and giving our staff time to be “fed”.  Each teacher comes back to class refreshed, renewed and ready to share the great news of the gospel with our Elementary Kids!

How does TC Kids keep parents involved in their child’s experience at church?

We believe the best way for parents to be involved in what their child is learning is to become a part of the team that teaches that child.  In addition, each week when you pick up your child, your child’s teacher will hand you a parent flyer. This flyer has a summary of what your child learned during the worship service, as well as some ideas for how to incorporate that week’s lesson into your child’s daily life.  Be sure to reinforce the lessons by asking your child what they learned each week – you’ll be amazed at what they can remember!

How can I volunteer in TC Kids?

There is nothing so great that you can invest your time in than the local church to build a healthy, strong, Christ-centered child. There are 52 weekend opportunities each year - you are invited to take advantage of them all!

There are many positions available where you can serve. These include teaching, co-teaching, being a part of our special events, and many more.  If you are interested in serving we have a time-tested formal screening process created with child safety in mind.  For more information on how you can be involved, contact the church via email, call us at 727-344-1501 or stop by the Welcome Center in the sanctuary during our weekend service.

What are the options for Elementary Kids whose parents wish to attend Adult Sunday School, in addition to the Worship Service?

In addition to attending their regular TC Kids class, elementary children can attend Kids’ Church from 9-10am for a high-energy hour of games, crafts and a deeper look into the weekend's Bible story.  Kids’ Church is held in the Youth Room, next door to the Adult Sunday School class.
